ABOUT

SINGER - ACTIVIST - ENTREPRENEUR

Natalie holds her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas where she studied with Dr. Lauren McNeese. During her time at UNT, Natalie brought her passion to the roles of Gheradino, in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, and the Owl in Janáček’s, The Cunning Little Vixen. She looks forward to spending her professional career spreading that sense of connection with those around her.

Natalie Holder is an emerging soprano with a passion for creating community through communication.

Natalie is also passionate about environmental conservation and sustainable living. Everyone deserves clean air and water, and a chance to explore the wonders of the natural world. She works in collaboration with the Miss America Organization and Dr. Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots to educate her community about how each person can make a difference in the world around them. During her time at the University of North Texas, she served as the North Texas Ecological Representative president, organized a campus cleanup with UNT Concert Choir, and inspired her peers and professors to make personal lifestyle changes to improve the environment. Her most recent recital, Matters of the Heart, explored the complexities of the heart as a metaphor for the core of mankind. A year into the coronavirus pandemic communities were broken and people detached and hurting from so much loss and separation. Natalie hoped to help people connect with each other and themselves through her enchanting performance.

Through her performances, Natalie develops a musical space where her audience is able to safely explore complex emotions that are key to understanding the human experience.  In a world where people have become so disconnected from themselves and each other, she believes music can be that missing link.

As a teacher, Natalie believes in providing her students with a diverse musical education to encourage all kinds of music making. Musical standards, theory, and rules are essential fundamentals but should never limit personal creativity. Her lessons are about building a "musical toolbox" that will allow her students to express themselves in any way they wish. She has taught all ages, but she particularly loves to help adults rekindle their love for music by demystifying music fundamentals.
